Abstract

First, the Persian poetry grew in the court. This growth imposed some features and requirements to Persian poetry and the literature especially poetry followed the desires of kings' court for centuries. In addition to lack of thought and language variety, this prevented evolution of poetic form and content. The present study used analytic-descriptive method to study the historical reasons of oppression orientation in Persian poetry from appearance to contemporary period (the middle of Nasereddin Shah's governance) and fighting oppression in the next period. To this end, the trend of historical evolutions considering three aspects economic, political, and cultural in the contemporary period and the role of these three factors in the content metamorphosis in poetry belonged to Mashruteh period were investigated. The results of the study indicate that ۱. Oppression orientation in Persian poetry is as a result of being grown in the court and advertising instrument for kings to show their government's magnificence to scare the opponents in most historical periods. ۲. In the contemporary period (Nasereddin Shah's governance), fighting oppression trend in the poems related to this period has been manifested more because of thinking evolution of intellectuals and decrease in government's power. ۳. Due to lack of strong parties, the poets played the role of parties to theorize the government and specify governing methods and democracy for people. ۴. The advent of new classes made a remarkable change to literature and brought it out of stagnation and accompanied literature with revolutionary passion.
